Southstream Seafoods is
a Rhode Island-based corporation dealing in frozen seafood commodities.
The company produces, imports, and wholesales seafood products nationally,
and has extensive resources in Canada, Alaska, Scandinavia and the Far
East. Originally located in East Greenwich, RI Southstream moved in 1996
to its current offices in Warwick, RI. Operations are conducted in a 5,000
square foot facility and successfully carried out by a staff of 15 officers,
sales representatives and administrative professionals
Southstream was founded in 1989 on the premise of addressing a need for
superior quality and commitment to service in the foodservice and retail
marketplace. Over the years, commodity seafoods were strictly price driven,
without regard to quality levels of raw product, or service levels to
the sales program. Since much seafood was sold into the foodservice industry,
restaurant end users were often plagued with inconsistent quality and
significant price fluctuation, resulting in low confidence in seafood
products.
Southstream Seafoods has emerged as a leader by delivering on the concept
of consistent quality and total customer satisfaction. The people that
make up the company are noted for their commitment to exemplary service
levels and aggressive pricing. The Southstream label, FROSTMARK, has earned its reputation for consistent high
quality products in commodity niche raw fillets and shellfish, which are now available in retail packaging for consumer use.
The five-year business plan calls for an increase in sales staff, with
complete operations and administrative support to achieve sales goals
of $80-$100 million. The company has substantial financial resources and
an exemplary credit history. All operations continue to grow profitably.
