Very similar to Atlantic Cod in appearance, taste and texture, Pacific Cod is an important contributor to world demand for white-meat groundfish. It is processed into numerous forms of fillets, portions and other products and is seldom distinguished from its Atlantic cousin in markets for these items. Cooking MethodsAlaska Cod lends itself to various preparations -- it cooks quickly and benefits from moist heat. This cod can be baked, sauteed, steamed, poached or deep fried. Alaska cod does not do well on the grill as its flesh flakes too easily. |
